What is the least I can expect to pay for a sissy bar for my Honda Shadow motorcycle?

Question by Caleb: What is the least I can expect to pay for a sissy bar for my Honda Shadow motorcycle?
I have a Honda Shadow VT 750 A.C.E. and want to get a sissy bar for it, but the ones I’m finding are pretty pricy ($ 250+). Does anyone know where I can find a cheaper sissy bar or places that sell used motorcycle parts that might have something?
Best answer:
Answer by Buster Brown
Sell the shadow and buy something that does not tempt you to put a sissy bar on it. You will be a happier man. As Chairman Mao might have said: “In military parlance, this is known as ‘thinking outside the box’”.

Looking for a good idea to obtain a Honda motorcycle?
Sep 22nd
Question by sisteroffortune: Looking for a good idea to obtain a Honda motorcycle?
I want to give someone a hand up. If they had a motorcycle they could get out of the french quarter to a better job. This person is worthy of one good break in a year of hell. I have listed personal items in barter sections of Craigs list. I have sold things I still fall short of the goal. Some one seriously give me a good idea how to come up with a reliable motorcycle. And yes I am flat broke and no I will not be a prostitute.
This guy has survived Not only the worst storm to hit NOLA in 50 years but did not get FEMA money or any real assistance. He lost everything and I know one break he could start over. So please no flippant answers just good ideas on obtaining the goal. There has to be an idea or something I have not thought of to get my hands on a good bike.
BTW he has a job its a crap one that hardly meets his needs . Also how do you move when you have only your feet? Bike=Better job .

Q&A: How many miles can a honda motorcycle go for from the early 1980′s?
Sep 19th
Question by phantom_pastel: How many miles can a honda motorcycle go for from the early 1980′s?
I am looking at a honda nighthawk 500 from 1984 with about 45000 miles. How much is a good price for such a bike?

Answer by curmudgeon55
Maybe $ 250.00 to $ 500.00. Depends on maintenance record. At that mileage timing chain is getting a lot worn, drive sprockets and drive chain due to be replaced- but they may have already been replaced. Carbs may need cleaning and rebuild- but again they may have been refurbished under normal 30,000 mile maintenance. Rings good for a few more miles, valves also, maybe another 10,000 miles before top end valve and ring job- or use a little heavier oil. Check clutch- plates may be worn, or been replaced, or maybe Ok if most of cycle miles were on highway. Previous use and maintenance makes a difference
