Q&A: Who can I order OEM Honda motorcycle parts from?
Feb 25th
Question by my 2nd account: Who can I order OEM Honda motorcycle parts from?
I’m tired of dealership prices. I’m also tired of websites that take my order, take their sweet time to place my order, then after they receive my parts, take their sweet time to mail them to me. Can I just directly order from a website that actually has even the uncommon parts in stock…like a warehouse? Need shipping to USA.
Paypal prefered
also, a website/company that you have “personally” used.

Q&A: Where online can I order Honda motorcycle parts directly from a warehouse?

Question by john hobart: Where online can I order Honda motorcycle parts directly from a warehouse?
I don’t want to order from online sites that don’t keep parts in stock.
if you google: hdlparts
this is what you get along with the link to hdlparts.com:
We do not stock OEM parts. We will place your order with Honda and ship them to you ASAP. This takes 7 to 10 days for items that are in stock at Honda
so with that, i don’t think i will be using HDLParts for my online ordering.

Question by Thunderchunk: I have a rusty muffler from an old Honda motorcycle. I was planning on sandblasting it. Any suggestions?
I have a sandblaster. Is there a certain type of sand I should use? Or maybe some other abrasive? Or maybe there is another process to remove the rust that I don’t know about? Afterwards I will be painting it with a high temp matte black paint if that makes any difference. Thanks for the advice!

Q&A: How many miles can a honda motorcycle go for from the early 1980′s?

Question by phantom_pastel: How many miles can a honda motorcycle go for from the early 1980′s?
I am looking at a honda nighthawk 500 from 1984 with about 45000 miles. How much is a good price for such a bike?

Answer by curmudgeon55
Maybe $ 250.00 to $ 500.00. Depends on maintenance record. At that mileage timing chain is getting a lot worn, drive sprockets and drive chain due to be replaced- but they may have already been replaced. Carbs may need cleaning and rebuild- but again they may have been refurbished under normal 30,000 mile maintenance. Rings good for a few more miles, valves also, maybe another 10,000 miles before top end valve and ring job- or use a little heavier oil. Check clutch- plates may be worn, or been replaced, or maybe Ok if most of cycle miles were on highway. Previous use and maintenance makes a difference

Go to Honda’s website, and put in your ZIP code. You’ll get a list of dealers, then look for the ones with groups associated with them by the icon next to the dealer name – they are typically the largest. For best price, smaller dealers can be better since they have lower volume and need to work harder to move bikes. Call all the local dealers for price when you’re looking – shop around.
