I have a 86 honda shadow 750cc motorcycle, the problem is when i gun it there is a respondes every time before it startes to go. Also the is a whilsleing sound but i can’t find it anywhere. it a great bike you can look at it at cruisercustomizing.com/guido20…

Could be a dirty air filter, or the opening to the air box may be restricted. Small animals like to build nests in motorcycle air boxes.

When you have exceeded the manufacturers recommended change interval.
If you neglect the routine maintenance on your motorcycle it can become unreliable.
It kind of makes you wonder what other required maintenance you are neglecting.
I recommend you get a service manual for your bike. They are relatively inexpensive. Even if you don’t do the work yourself you will at least understand what needs to be done and when. A service manual will pay for itself the first time you use it.

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak somewhere, which would cause the engine to run lean. That would account for the “stumble” when you first begin to accelerate (I see this a lot on bikes that have been piped, but not jetted to match) and also the whistling noise (air being sucked in around a carburetor sleeve, rather than through the carb, maybe…air, like water and electricity will take the path of least resistance) Might be a pain in the tail trying to track this down, but worth it when you find the problem. I’m getting a motorcycle soon but still confused between suzuki gsx-r600, yamaha r6 or honda cbr600rr. What would you recommend? And I’m getting a used one so what year is best for me? my average is 5000-8000$ ?

Those are all terrible absolutely incredibly STUPID first bikes. All of them. They are race bikes with lights, if you think you can handle that as a first bike you’re either incredibly naive or just poorly informed. Start with something that’s NOT a race replica bike. Look into a SV-650, GSX-500, Ninja 650, etc etc.
EDIT: A note, it is not the engine size that is the issue here; 600cc’s is a relatively small engine, it’s how that engine makes it’s power. A 600cc engine designed to rev to 14k RPM’s is a very different beast from a 1200cc bike that will never see the north side of 800 RPM’s.

Engine oil cap. should be cast on the engine case near the dipstick opening. Tha dip stick should have 2 marks bottom is add top is full with motorcycle straight up & level, dipstick screwed in.

I am novice buying my first bike and I have some concerns. 1) I heard tall people may have trouble steering on this bike. (I am 6’2″) 2) Pegs and heels often scrap on turns. 3) Front brakes lock.
Can you give me any insight into these concerns or any other information I could use in making the decition to buy a Rebel.

Another good bike in this class is the Yamaha Virago. Many people grow out of these bikes very quickly though.
